3 · Cookies & tracking

Essential cookies keep the site running (session, CSRF). Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4, IP-anonymised) help us understand traffic; you can opt out via the cookie banner. A full cookie list is published on our Cookie Policy page.

4 · Uploads & embedded media

Please strip EXIF/GPS data before uploading images. Posts may embed YouTube, SlideShare or similar content. Those platforms may set their own cookies and collect usage data per their privacy policies.

5 · Gravatar

If you comment using WordPress, an anonymised hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar (Automattic Inc., USA). See the Automattic Privacy Policy. Once your comment is approved, your avatar is public.

6 · Third-party processors

     

      • Stripe – payment processing (EU-US Data Privacy Framework)

      • Google LLC – Analytics & Workspace email/storage (EU-US DPF)

      • Mailerlite – mailing-list management (EU servers)

    All processors act only on our instructions and offer UK GDPR-equivalent protection.

    7 · International transfers

    Where data is processed outside the UK/EEA (e.g., Stripe US), we rely on an adequacy decision (EU-US DPF) or the UK Addendum to EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

    8 · Your rights

    You may at any time:

       

        • Request access to the personal data we hold on you;

        • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;

        • Erase data no longer needed (right to be forgotten);

        • Restrict or object to processing;

        • Receive a portable copy of your data;

        • Withdraw consent for marketing.

      9 · Data security

      We employ SSL/TLS encryption, strict access controls, regular vulnerability scans and encrypted cloud storage. Only vetted trustees or staff can access personal data under confidentiality agreements.

      10 · Data retention & deletion

      Data is reviewed annually and securely deleted or anonymised when no longer needed for our charitable purposes, legal obligations or accounting (max 7 years for financial records).

      Substantive updates will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, emailed to registered users.
