The Instructional Designer develops and supports high-quality online and hybrid courses, collaborating with faculty to integrate effective pedagogy and instructional technologies.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of Online Learning, the Instructional Designer designs and develops courses for asynchronous, synchronous, and hybrid delivery. The role collaborates closely with faculty to create high-quality learning experiences and supports innovative teaching and learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop media-rich courses across multiple modalities.
  • Collaborate with faculty SMEs on instructional strategies and technology integration.
  • Apply Quality Matters standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Support faculty training, consultations, and professional development.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging instructional technologies, including AI-driven tools.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of instructional design experience in higher education.
  • Expert knowledge of learning management systems (Canvas preferred).
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and copyright compliance.

Additional Information

This is a hybrid position with most time spent on the Main Campus in Philadelphia. Employment is contingent upon background checks and eligibility to work in the U.S.
