Role Overview
Microsoft’s productivity division is hiring Senior and Principal Applied Scientists to advance state-of-the-art AI research and integrate it into core productivity products such as M365 Copilot, Word, Teams, and Dynamics 365.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct applied research projects with real-world product impact
- Integrate rigorous scientific methods into the product lifecycle
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers, designers, and product managers
- Bridge research and product teams
- Publish and share research through top-tier venues
- Teach and guide colleagues in research best practices
Qualifications
- Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree with relevant research experience
- Strong publication record in top-tier scientific venues
- Experience in applied AI research areas such as LLMs, RAG, and reinforcement learning
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background checks
