The Business Development Representative supports K–12 literacy initiatives by generating and qualifying sales leads for Scholastic’s education solutions.
Role Overview
Scholastic is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to expand access to its literacy and instructional solutions for schools and education organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outbound outreach to schools, districts, and organizations
- Introduce literacy and instructional solutions to education decision-makers
- Lead discovery conversations to understand needs, funding, and timelines
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for the Inside Sales team
- Track outreach activity and insights in the CRM system
- Partner with Inside Sales Representatives for coordinated follow-up
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of sales development or customer-facing experience preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience using CRM systems and sales tools
- Interest in education or literacy is a plus
