The Business Development Representative supports K–12 literacy initiatives by generating and qualifying sales leads for Scholastic’s education solutions.

Role Overview

Scholastic is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to expand access to its literacy and instructional solutions for schools and education organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-volume outbound outreach to schools, districts, and organizations
  • Introduce literacy and instructional solutions to education decision-makers
  • Lead discovery conversations to understand needs, funding, and timelines
  • Qualify leads and schedule meetings for the Inside Sales team
  • Track outreach activity and insights in the CRM system
  • Partner with Inside Sales Representatives for coordinated follow-up

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of sales development or customer-facing experience preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales tools
  • Interest in education or literacy is a plus
