Developer Relations Engineer role supporting the Blockly open source project by engaging developers, building demos, and improving developer experience within an education-focused nonprofit.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Developer Relations Engineer to join the Blockly team at the Raspberry Pi Foundation. You will work with partners and contributors to improve the developer experience and grow a strong open source community around Blockly.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to forum and GitHub posts from users and contributors
- Encourage community involvement and contribution
- Write sample code and build demos for developers
- Triage issues and collaborate with the Software Engineering Manager
- Manage external contributor pipeline and review submitted code
- Speak at developer events, including the Blockly Summit
- Advocate best practices for open source projects
Requirements
- Experience with web development tools and workflows
- Experience with TypeScript and a web framework such as React or Angular
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience creating written and video content for technical audiences
- Interest in education and block-based programming
