Role Overview
The Academic Specialist in Automotive Technology is a full-time, twelve-month position supporting student success through instruction, administration, and program development within the Engineering Technology department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction up to 12 hours per week.
- Design and deliver instructional materials aligned with automotive industry standards.
- Advise, tutor, and mentor students throughout their educational lifecycle.
- Use data and analytics to improve student retention and completion outcomes.
- Support curriculum development, assessment, and grant activities.
- Supervise laboratory and shop activities ensuring safety and equipment readiness.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and current ASE certifications or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of AI-integrated vehicle systems and advanced driver assistance systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Additional Information
This position is based on-campus in Union County, New Jersey, and includes participation in college governance and commencement events.
