Role Overview
Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to support and modernise institutional data infrastructure, pipelines, and data warehousing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise data ingestion pipelines and data warehouse platforms.
- Support reporting, insight, and advanced analytics across the University.
- Collaborate with analytics, software engineering, IT, and stakeholders.
- Promote best practices in data governance, security, and automation.
- Maintain and enhance Microsoft Azure and Oracle-based solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data warehousing and data pipeline design.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
- Understanding of modern data architecture, ETL/ELT, and analytics workloads.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
